Hello all. First of all just a brief note about the new songbook, parts one and two. Please, if you received your copy at the last meeting, or have downloaded it, could you help me proof-read the songbook. The songs all need playing through by as many members as possible so that you can let me know about any glitches, mistakes or things that just plain don't work! Please email me at the usual address (see above) if you find anything I need to alter. Also please let me know what songs you want included in the next part, coming soon!
David and I had an astounding time at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain. We're currently still away elsewhere but on our return I will be writing a full review of the event for this blog. In the meantime there are a few video clips available on YouTube that we shot during the event. The YouTube account you need to look for is named DavidGraceUke2011
See you at the next meeting,
Hello and welcome!
Hello and welcome to the blog for Bay City Ukers! We are a ukulele club who started meeting in February 2011, and now meet up about once a month at the Golf Club, off Nelson Road, Whitstable. The idea was to create a uke group for people living on the coastal strip of East Kent who found it hard to get to groups in the more central towns.
Playing ukulele has become an extremely popular pastime again over the last few years and uke groups are appearing everywhere. Each is different but ours focuses on simply having fun playing together and doesn't take itself seriously. Beginners are very welcome and we can choose some easy songs to play if you have only just started.
Gordon's email email@example.com if you have any further questions this blog doesn't answer. Hope to see you there! The wearing of tartan is neither necessary nor obligatory, and if you have a non-uking partner, feel free to bring them along to shake their maracas and sing along.
